Ben Buechner started off as a street artist using pop and action painting. He spend over a decade to develop his own technique for making works of art, which resulted in his unique 3-D stencil-sculpture-art. This enables him to play with dimensions and themes literally taking space. An interesting way of transforming a 2D image into 3D, mixing painting with sculpting. Each painting is made up of hundreds of specific detailed, small cut-out sculptures, which together form the desired image. His work is aesthetically beautiful to look at and brings across a strong feeling of warmth and harmony. He chooses the theme according to the statement he wants to make. Buechner wants his art to be enjoyed: an easily understood mirror of society. His work can be divided into three series: 1 ) Metamorphose: the dedication to the beautiful statue (sculpture), of the woman as the bearer of joy, delight and beauty. In this series, he plays with various images of butterflies, which together go through a second transformation to form a gorgeous woman. 2 ) Splash: committed to show the dynamics of order and chaos when people unite. In this series he combines 3-D stencil-sculpture-art with action painting. This results in small stories, in which people join up and react. Which impact does an intervention have on a group of people? How will each individual behave? And what will happen to the shape of the group? 3 ) Real life: situations from real life in which Buechner plays with the genre s  portrait and still life using popularized pop culture of reality and celebrities, such as Marilyn Monroe and John Lennon. An inspiration for this series is everyday life and advertising motifs, in which he plays with the contradiction of perfection and completeness compared to street life that asks for spontaneous ideas. The ‘3-D stencil-sculpture’ works show a great love for detail. Each stencil cut-out sculpture is painted or sprayed and then pinned on the background by hand, allowing the artist to create depth. The sculptures are often only 1cm in size and made from different materials. For his sculptures the artist often uses vinyl or paper. The interaction of individual sculptures create the complete artwork. His „3-D stencil-sculpture-art“ pieces are all unique. Ben Buechner identifies himself as a creative art designer. He designs artworks and experiments with lots of mixed materials. He was educated as a advertising designer and worked for several years as an advertising professional. His drive to develop his own signature style has led to experimenting with a great variety of techniques and materials. During the last decade he has become very skilled in his ‘Stencil-Cut-Out-Mixed-Technique’. This is his way of creating 3-D works, which are formed by hundreds of specific, detailed sculptures, such as flowers, letters, butterflies or people. He prefers butterfly sculptures. His work has been successfully shown all over Europe and beyond.
